MetaWear Becomes First U.S. Cradle to Cradle™ ‘Fashion Positive’ Factory

Fashion manufacturer MetaWear, in collaboration with Cradle to Cradle initiative Fashion Positive, is set to offer the first U.S.-based Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Silver organic cotton men’s and women’s T-shirts. The products have met the highest standards in terms of chemical safety, water effluent standards, compostability and renewable energy production.

MetaWear has developed T-shirts made from 100% compostable and certfieid organic cotton. Located in Fairfax, Virginia, they are also the first and only Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)-certified turnkey factory in the USA offering the full package of manufacturing, dyeing, and finishing.

Fashion Positive was originally created by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute in 2014. It is designed to be a catalyst for designers, brands and manufacturers to make better clothing and textile products and provides support through a revolving innovation fund.
