Europe and the Circular Economy

In a recent piece for EU Observer, politician and circular economy advocate Ida Auken discusses how a regenerative model can take advantage of innovations in technology and business innovation. She encourages other politicians and elected officials to treat the circular economy as an opportunity, suggesting positive action that policymakers can take to support the transition to a more circular economic model.

In this must-read piece, Auken sums up much of the thinking behind the circular economy: design for effective recovery and re-use of components, the development of leasing business models and new thinking around resource and service taxation.
